Three Main Types of the Hydraulic Valve

The development of the valve industry has been proceeding at a quick pace within the past years. Various valves are making contributions to hydraulic systems. Actually, they are generally placed into the hydraulic pipes to take great effects, such as the control of the pressure and flowing fluids or the utilization of the hydraulic power. Based on the different purposes and functions, there are three main types available. They are the pressure, directional and flow control ones.

Firstly, the pressure hydraulic valves are used to control the pressure of water in the relative systems. They are designed to be able to ensure that the pressure should be under certain set supper limit. Therefore, they can be divided into several specific types, including the pressure regulators and sequence, unloading and counter-balance valves. They mainly differ at their specific operating functions. For example, the counter-balance valves are applied to keep the pressure of the water to be under control. And the sequence valves are the valve in two-way so as that the two parts are controlled to be opened in sequence.

Secondly, the directional hydraulic valves, also called the directional control valve, have two more flow paths. Therefore, they are used to guide the flow in an expected direction or to start or stop the flow. And they can be driven by pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical or mechanical device or can be manually operated.

At last, the flow control hydraulic valves are generally used to hold the water when the relative systems are in rest state. As a result, the free flow through the system by convection can be effectively avoided. Or it can be said that these valves are able to allow the flow and prevent the reverse flow.
